Frequently asked.
What is the difference between SEO setup and ongoing SEO?
SEO setup is a one-off project. It puts the technical foundation in place so that search engines can read and index the site correctly. Ongoing SEO is a monthly programme that builds on that foundation with new content, on-page work and reporting. Every site needs the foundation; the monthly programme makes sense when the business wants to compete for more searches.
Will SEO setup put my website on the first page of Google?
No one can promise a position, and we do not. Setup removes the technical reasons a site fails to rank, and makes each page clear about what it offers and to whom. Where the site appears after that depends on competition, content and time.
Does a new website need SEO setup before launch?
Yes, and before launch is the best moment for it. Done then, every page can be indexed correctly the first time instead of being repaired later, and titles, structured data, the sitemap and Search Console are simpler to get right. Our technical SEO checklist for a new website lists what should be in place on launch day.
Can you do SEO setup on my existing website without rebuilding it?
Yes. The work starts with an audit of current visibility, technical faults, missing pages and pages that compete with each other. The fixes are then made to the site as it stands. A rebuild is recommended only if the platform prevents the necessary changes.
My website is in Greek and English. Does that change the setup?
Yes. Each language version is declared to search engines, each page gets its own canonical address, and the sitemap lists every version once. That way the Greek page appears in Greek results and the English page in English ones. Visitors choose their language on the page instead of being redirected by their location.
How soon will I see results in search?
Search engines have to recrawl and reassess the site, so changes appear gradually, not overnight. Search Console records impressions, clicks and average position, so you can watch the change as it happens. On sites under Website Care, technical SEO monitoring stops the foundation slipping as the site changes.

What SEO setup comprises
SEO setup is the technical and structural foundation that allows a search engine to understand a website: what the organisation is, what it offers, for whom, and where. It is not a campaign and it does not constitute a guarantee. It is work that must be carried out once, correctly, so that everything the organisation publishes subsequently has the opportunity to be found. It is included in every complete business website and is available for existing websites following an audit.
Deliverables
Keyword research maps the terms people actually search for to the pages that should answer them, and identifies the pages that are missing. Metadata comprises titles and descriptions written for the search results page, where they compete for attention. Structured data describes the organisation, its services, its navigation and its content in a format search engines can use for rich results. A sitemap lists every page that should be indexed, and the indexing configuration excludes those that should not. Search Console and Analytics are verified, connected and documented, so that the organisation can monitor its own visibility.
Headings, structure and content
Search engines read structure. Every page requires a single clear heading stating its subject, subheadings that address the questions a visitor would ask, and sufficient specific text to answer them. The setup therefore includes a content review of every page: heading hierarchy, subtitles that restate the heading in the terms people search for, internal links between related pages, and image descriptions. This page is constructed according to the principles it describes.
Content guidance
Technical structure is only effective when the content supports it. As part of the setup we advise on the organisation of content: one page for each service or subject that the business wishes to be found for, a clear heading hierarchy on each page, sufficient specific text to answer the visitor's question, and internal links that connect related pages. Where content is missing we identify the gaps and, where required, the studio can produce the copy as a separate engagement. Duplicated or near-duplicated pages, which compete with one another in search results, are consolidated. The objective is a website whose structure and content answer the same questions a search engine is trying to resolve.
Exclusions
SEO setup does not include ongoing content production, link acquisition, paid search or monthly ranking reports; these are retainer services and are only worthwhile once the foundation is in place. It does not include a guarantee of position, which no responsible practitioner can offer. It does include a concise closing report stating what was implemented, what should be monitored, and what would follow if the organisation wishes to invest further.
Existing websites
SEO setup can be applied to an existing website without a rebuild. The work begins with an audit: current visibility, missing pages, technical faults, and pages that compete with one another. On websites under Website Care, the technical SEO monitoring included in the service prevents the foundation from degrading as the site changes.
Structured data
Structured data is the element of SEO setup most frequently omitted and increasingly relied upon by search engines. We mark up the organisation with its name, mark and contact points; each service as a service entity; breadcrumbs on every page; products and availability on e-commerce sites; and articles on websites that publish. The markup is validated before launch and reviewed under Website Care as the site changes, since structured data that no longer reflects the page is worse than none.
Languages and regions
Websites serving more than one language or region must declare this in a form search engines understand, or the wrong version will be presented in the wrong results. The setup includes language and region annotations across versions, a canonical address for every page so that duplicates do not compete, and a sitemap listing each version once. Regional content is presented on the page rather than by redirecting visitors according to their apparent location, a practice that both search engines and visitors penalise.
Measurement
The relevant measures are impressions, clicks, click-through rate and average position for the queries that matter to the business, together with the Core Web Vitals that determine whether a page is eligible to rank. Search Console reports all of these. The setup concludes with a short session explaining where to find them, what a typical first quarter looks like, and which changes warrant a response.
Starting a project
Enquiries can be submitted through the contact form, selecting SEO setup, or by email to hello@walkupdigital.com with the website address and the objectives. We respond within one working day. Where appropriate, a consultation follows, after which we issue a written proposal covering scope, timeline and terms.
Ongoing monitoring
Search visibility changes as a website changes. On websites under Website Care, technical SEO monitoring is included, so that broken links, missing metadata, indexing errors and performance regressions are identified in the monthly report rather than discovered through declining traffic.
